This little K-Mart yard décor item is probably almost 20 years old. It spent long years well loved on the front porch of a dear family member. There were a few small cracks and all the color was faded to shades of grey. I was asked if I could re-paint the birds. I did so much more than give the birds some color. The entire piece looks like it has been brought back to life. Yes, the mushrooms were inspired by Mario. Check out my YouTube Channel for the before and after pictures. This purse was a gift. I liked the size of the purse, but at the time I did not have any floral pattern purses. I had just started making space in my home office for painting. This is also when little kitten Natasha was kept for recovery post a complicated knee surgery. I had the purse, the paint, and needed to keep Natasha off his knee as much as possible. I have been drawing the same simple unicorn since I was in elementary school. Painting the purse ignited my passion to resume painting and gave me the courage to take my art out into the real world. The pictures I took while painting this purse became my very first YouTube Video. The Unicorn Purse started my art journey!
