Unicorn painting on a beach

Title: Unicorn On The Beach
Date: 2024
Medium: Acrylic Paint
Surface: 12” x 12” Wood Panel

Inspiration:
In 1982 I was a girl dreaming of riding unicorns and making friends with dragons. This is also the year that The Last Unicorn came out. I love this movie and even today I will put the DVD on for the music and the beautiful back grounds. I love the sea. The sea is always good. I can sit at the beach for hours. I could hear the waves crashing and the sounds of the seagulls at play as I painted my version of a unicorn on the beach.

Title: Octavius In The Moonlight
Date:

Inspiration:
I think fine art comes in all shapes, sizes, and mediums. I may spend hours and hours on an acrylic painting on a three-and-a-half-inch tree round. All of my tree-round paintings are inspired by something I love.Is Octavius challenging the night sky? Is the sword he is holding a reason for the challenge? I love that the painting leaves questions open to your imagination. Octavius is missing part of one of his arms. Perhaps there is more to his story than what is shown. Octavius is the ambassador of No Backwards Step.

Title: The Dragon
Date:
Medium:Acrylic Paint
Surface: 24” x 30” standard canvas

Inspiration:
While this is fan art, I did everything from the initial sketch to the final design and the painting. I spent months bringing my dragon based on Haku in Spirited Away to life. I love all the layers of color.
